The symptoms and signs of Chronic Kidney Disease include:
- Weakness and tiredness just feeling generally unwell
- Puffiness around the eyes particularly in the morning
- Swelling of the feet usually noticed in the evenings
- Loss of appetite
- Recurrent vomiting and nausea
- History of very difficult to control blood pressure.
- Blood sugar repeatedly going low while on tablets for diabetes or long acting insulin
- Shortness of breath
- Having trouble concentrating
- Constant drowsiness
- Insomnia
- Decreased responsiveness
- Ultimately coma followed by death in severe cases
The earlier these symptoms are noticed the better chance for halting or slowing progression. Unfortunately these symptoms can be very nonspecific and in some cases easily ignored.
